Prescriptions

Mellerick's Pharmacy is licenced by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) to dispense the full range of prescribed drugs and medicines We also have agreements with the Health Service Executive (HSE) to provide services under the Primary Care Reimbursement Services scheme.

Healthmail is a new initiative from the HSE which is a really convenient way for you to get your prescription from your GP to us.

Save time and avoid any unnecessary visits to the GP surgery? Ask them to use Healthmail to send your prescription to us.

With the recent change in prescription laws because of the pandemic, your GP can now send a legal prescription via Healthmail - a safe and secure email portal exclusively for healthcare professionals who work with the HSE. This electronic prescription replaces the traditional paper prescription and the need for you to call to your doctors’ surgery to physically collect the prescription.

Mike McCarthy

Originally from Kanturk, Mike now lives in Douglas. He qualified with a Masters (Mpharm) degree from The University of Sunderland in 2001.

He completed his pre-registration training with Moss Pharmacy in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2002. He returned to Ireland in 2003 and has been working with Mellericks since 2005. Mike also obtained an Executive MBA from UCC in 2012. After joining the business in 2005, Mike became Supervising Pharmacist and now Mike McCarthy is the current owner of Mellerick's Pharmacy as off 2021.

Rasa Bartuseviciute

Originally from Lithuania, Rasa moved to Fermoy in 2003. Qualified from UCC as a Pharmacist in 2020 and has been working in Mellerick's Pharmacy since then.
